Please note the private data is only available to officers in the Greater London Authority (GLA), London Boroughs, and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) which have joined the data partnership. 

If your organisation is listed below, you may request access to the data by contacting the High Streets Data Service (HSDS) team at

The public data is open to all. 


1. Which organisations are members of the HSDS?

2. How do I access the data?

Only subscribing members of the HSDS have access to the private datasets and the visualisation explorer tools.

If you work at a London borough or BID that is listed above, please create an account with the London Datastore using your organisational email.

Once you have created an  account, please email to be granted access to the private datasets.

3. I’ve been onboarded but having trouble accessing the high streets data, can you assist?

Make sure you are logged into your London Datastore account – top right, using your organisational email address.

Please note you will only be able to access the data that the GLA has given you permission for. If you are logged in and still cannot view the datasets, please email us at to be granted access.

4. I am a member of the Service. May I share the data with consultants or partners?

As part of your membership to the High Streets Data Service, you may request that HSDS data be sub-licensed to third parties you contract with. This means contractors, consultancies, or researchers performing analysis on your behalf have the ability to access HSDS data through your subscription. Please note that the GLA administers this sub-license: you may not share this data with partners directly.

In order to share data with a contractor, consultancy, or researcher, the account manager from the subscribing organisation (GLA, borough, or BID) must make a written request to

5. I would like to join the High Streets Data Service. How can I sign up?

Please note the terms of our current tenders with our data providers only allow us to share the private data with London borough and BID officers.

Email us at the to discuss joining the membership.

We are only able to share data with other third parties if they are under contract with a subscribing borough or BID to deliver a specific project which requires the High Streets Data Service. If you are delivering work on behalf of a borough or BID, please have them contact us to administer a sub-license to the data.
