HSDS Membership: What’s inside
The HSDS provides its members with access to granular datasets, analytical tools, and reports on spending, footfall, and vacancy. Membership to the service includes:
- Comprehensive access to collectively procured datasets, including:
- A 2.5-year history of street-level footfall data for residents, workers, and visitors
- Catchment and visitor origin data, broken down by borough, Greater London, home counties, England & Wales, and international visitor counts
- Six years of inflation-adjusted consumer spending data, categorized by sector and distinguishing between international and domestic spending
- Footfall and spending data segmented by time of day
- A high street business register, covering retail, leisure, and hospitality sectors, with information on floorspace, opening/closing hours, and vacant premises
- Unlimited user accounts with access to intuitive HSDS tools, including:
- An individual spend and footfall reporting dashboard for every borough, high street, town centre, and BID across London
- A browser-based mapping tool for spatial insights
- Ad hoc interactive reports, covering topics such as Friday office attendance, the impact of the London Mural Festival, and major cultural event attendance
- Dedicated service support and training:
- Comprehensive onboarding and training for new users
- An annual “Data Science Incubator,” offering 12 weeks of free mentoring for borough and BID teams to explore a specific research question
- Weekly “data surgeries” and a help desk to address questions, with an average response time of less than one day
