The GLA and others have published a number of resources relating to the Cost of Living. The datasets are individually searchable, but this page brings them together into one place.
GLA cost of living polling
Opinions of Londoners are at the heart of policy making at the Greater London Authority (GLA). City Hall conducts regular research with Londoners to provide evidence and insight into public opinion and behaviours, in order to support effective and impactful policy making and the development of strategies and programmes of work.
State of London
This report by GLA City Intelligence (the latest update of which was published in January 2023) brings together a wide range of outcome data relevant to the work of the Mayor and the London Assembly, which will also be of interest to other stakeholders in London.
Fuel Poverty
Percentage of households in fuel poverty as measured by the Department for Energy and Climate Change. Statistics by tenure taken from the English Housing Survey.
Impacts of rising cost of living on London
This data companion pack is a resource intended to frame and be read alongside the linked rapid review of evidence for interventions to address the cost of living crisis (available on the Institute of Health Equity website) .
Survey of Londoners 2021-22
In 2021-22, the GLA conducted another Survey of Londoners, following the same methodology as the Survey of Londoners 2018-19, an online and paper self-completion survey of adults aged 16 and over in London.
The survey, which received responses from 8,630 Londoners, aimed to assess the impact of COVID-19 and associated restrictions on key social outcomes for Londoners, not available from other data sources.
The Survey of Londoners 2021-22 also took place just before the full effects of the cost-of-living crisis began to set in. It is highly likely that the situations of Londoners have changed while analysis was taking place.
