GLA Sport England Facilities Planning Model – Sports Halls and Swimming Pools

This reports provide an assessment of the current supply and demand for sports halls across London in 2025 using Sport England’s national Facilities Planning Model (FPM) and Active Places data as of March 2025.
The FPM is a computer model that helps to assess the strategic provision of community sports facilities across a defined geographical area. The assessments do not include future population growth projections but are baseline evidence for sports hall and swimming pool provision based on existing population and access to facilities.
The reports can be used by local authorities as a starting point to inform more detailed local assessments that can be used as evidence in decision making and to inform local plans.
