Our Census explorer maps data from 2021 and 2011 censuses at Ward and LSOA geographies.
Populations of nearly 200 countries of birth at 2001, 2011 and 2021 censuses are presented in this Detailed Country of birth excel tool while longer runs of census data, going back as far as 1961 for some key series, are shown in our Historical tables. A separate table of London census populations since 1801 is here. These spreadsheets all give figures for London boroughs and City of London.

London Output Area Classification
An open source demographic classification based on 2021 Census data developed by the Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) in collaboration with CIS members.
LOAC was published by the CDRC in October 2023. Data are also available on the datastore 2021 LOAC data.
CDRC based at University College London, and the universities of Liverpool, Oxford and Edinburgh has since rebranded as the Geographic Data Service (GeoDS).
We produced two classifications using 2011 census data, an output area classification and a classification of London workplace zones. Links to these are below. Workplace zone data were not published from the 2021 Census so it’s not possible to produce a similar classification this time round.
