London’s Low Carbon Green and Adaptive Markets – Climate Adaptation
This dataset provides the key metrics for the Level 2 sub-sectors of the Climate Adaptation dataset used within the snapshot report, for London and the Sub-regional Partnerships.
The Climate Adaptation definition has been adjusted from an Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change taxonomy developed partly with the GLA in 2013, updated through academic collaboration in 2022-24 and further refinement through stakeholder engagement in this study.
This taxonomy represents a narrow definition of Adaptation, as requested by stakeholders, with the observation that unless a measure is designed and implemented with the intent to be adaptive, they are not generally as successful as those which are designed for adaptive purposes.
The Climate Adaptation dataset comprises products and services from across the economy, which actively enable a shift towards a green economy.
The Climate Adaptation sector is considered an ‘umbrella’ or horizontal sector, crossing many other traditional sectors, counting products and services from those sectors which can reduce carbon emissions and improve the environment.
The sector is comprised of both core elements and those in the chain and network of supply, without whom the sector could not function.
