Key point: The number of overseas visits decreased by 6%, and visitor nights by 2% in quarter 3, 2012 (Jul-Sep) when compared with the same quarter in 2011. Total overseas visitor spend was up 11%.

International visitors data taken from the International Passenger Survey (IPS) from ONS. International tourism accounts for nearly four-fifths of all tourist spending in London.
Key Point: USA is the single biggest country of origin with over 1.9 million visitors between Q4 2011 and Q3 2012, but European countries account for two-thirds of all visits to London.
